Who We Are

Our Mission Statement
The North Shore Youth Council is dedicated to helping
youth and families cope in today's changing world.

Soldier & Veteran Resources
NSYC is located on the grounds of the Joseph A. Edgar School
at 525 Route 25A in Rocky Point

The North Shore Youth Council was established in 1982 by local community volunteers working together with the Town of Brookhaven and the local school districts in the area--Rocky Point, Miller Place, Shoreham-Wading River, and Mount Sinai. North Shore offers comprehensive youth and family services, and community education at NO cost to members of the "Tri-District" area. Our programs extend into the community through collaboration with the schools, local businesses, and a variety of projects and agencies. A Board of Directors and a Youth Advisory Board govern the North Shore Youth Council (NSYC).

Where We Are

The Council is located on the grounds of the Joseph A. Edgar School on Rocky Point Landing Road just north of 25A in Rocky Point, NY. Our programs extend throughout our community working in cooperation with the local schools, churches, civic, and business groups. The NSYC enthusiastically welcomes your ideas, questions, and concerns. Volunteers are always needed for special projects or as board members, chaperones, and fundraisers. Our doors are open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm or give us a call at (631)744-0207.

The NSYC is currently in need of artists and writers for our upcoming publication of "Spectrum Magazine." All work should be typewritten and submitted to the NSYC for consideration. Work may be edited for printing and permission slips are necessary if your entry is chosen. Not ALL work can be published due to overwhelming response. Please keep in mind the audience you are addressing and express yourself in a creative but tasteful manner. All work will be screened by our youth advisors. The NSYC is also looking for editors and paste-up artists! Contact the NSYC at 744-0207 or e-mail.
